Boise State gets kicked where it hurts by James Madison?

What in the freaking world happened to Virginia Tech this past Saturday?! The better questions may be “who in the heck is James Madison…they have a football team?!” Or, perhaps an even better question is what just happened to Boise State?

When James Madison traveled to Blacksburg, Virginia this past Saturday and took on the Virginia Tech Hokies, they not only shocked VT by beating them on their home turf 21-16, they made it known to the rest of the football world that they have a pretty good football team. They also happened to kick Boise State right where it hurts…

After Boise State beat Virginia Tech in Blacksburg last weekend in a come from behind victory, the talk started about the Broncos going undefeated the rest of the season and possibly playing for a national championship. And sure, they had an argument because let’s face it, the Hokies are no easy team to beat…at least that’s what we all thought, until this past Saturday when the Dukes from James Madison came into town and did something that is being talked about as possibly the biggest upset in college football -- at least the biggest since Appalachian State went up in the Big House and beat Michigan 3 years ago. Maybe James Madison is just that good, but whether you believe the Dukes are really good, or you believe the Hokies are really bad, it doesn’t help Boise State out one bit. In fact, this really hurts the Broncos in a bad way; it makes that win they had against the Chokies last week seem like not that big of a deal anymore.

Perhaps the Boise State Broncos can still make an argument about being in the title game, but they are going to have to demolish their competition from here on out, and the Hokies, well they are going to have to help the Broncos out a little more than this past Saturday and beat somebody. You can only get kicked where it hurts so many times…
