Must Wins For Week 3 In The NFL

With week 3 in the NFL only a day away, here are my “must wins” for the teams many of us thought would no doubt be in the playoffs:

First, I believe the Minnesota Vikings must win this Sunday. After being a pass away from the Superbowl in last year’s NFC title game, and after Brett “iron man” Favre decided to come back, you had to believe that the Vikings would no doubt be in the playoffs this year…some people, including myself, believed that they would not only be in the playoffs, but win the whole thing. Well, after a 0-2 start they are in a scary place and in a must-win situation tomorrow against the Detroit Lions. The Vikings’ offensive line has got to find a way to protect Favre, as well as create more holes for Adrian Peterson. The Vikings have a lot of work to do and need to do so quickly; however, they should be able to work a lot of the kinks out while playing the Lions. I think the Vikings will win this one 24-12. If not, Favre may as well go ahead and retire and save himself the embarrassment of hearing all the trash talking and continuing the rest of the season, knowing he should have hung up his cleats last year.

Second, I also believe the Dallas Cowgirls must win…I mean Cowboys, my bad. A lot of people thought the Cowboys would be playing at home for the Superbowl this year, but after a 0-2 start, you have to wonder what in the heck is going on?! How much longer is Jerry Jones going to keep Wade Phillips around…or is this even his fault? If it is time for coach Phillips to go, then maybe Bill Cowher is the answer…after all, he did say that he is missing coaching more and more every year. Whatever the case may be, they have a lot of work to do before they can even think about the playoffs, much less the Superbowl. They too are in a must-win situation against the Houston Texans tomorrow, and the way the Texans are playing right now, I believe they will put the Cowboys in panic mode as they hand them their third straight loss and a 0-3 record to start the season. Final score…Texans 28. Cowboys 24.
